PAY: Rs.37, 400/- - Rs. 67,000/- plus Academic Grade pay of Rs. 10,000/-
QUALIFICATIONS: Essential : (i) Consistently good academic record with a first class Master Degree and a
second class Honours Degree or a High second class Master Degree ( at least 55%) with a first class Honours
Degree in any subject. (ii) Doctorate degree from a recognized University. (iii) Ten years’ experience in teaching in
recognized Degree or Post Graduate College and / or University. (iv) Five years’ experience in administration in an
academic body of any institution in a comparable rank. (v) Good power of expression in Bengali and English –
spoken and written.
Explanation: A consistently good academic record shall mean an overall record of all assessment throughout the
academic career, that is to say, securing on an average at least 55% marks in all examinations taking together,
namely, Madhyamik or equivalent, Higher Secondary or equivalent, Honours, Master Degree stages.
Desirable: (i) Experience in guiding research; (ii) Original publications of High Standard.
AGE : Not more than 45 years on 01.01.2011, relaxable for highly qualified and experienced candidates and for
persons holding substantive appointment in teaching branch of the Education Department of the Government of
W.B.
