Indira Gandhi National Open University has released IGNOU B.Ed admission 2014 notification for January cycle

The Bachelors of Education Programme offered by IGNOU aims at developing the efficiency and competence of teaching aspirants both experienced and novice. Apart from teaching this course also aims at offering aspirants a deeper understanding and knowledge of various aspects of school management.

Course details
Minimum course duration- 2 years
Maximum course duration-4 years
Eligibility- Aspirants with graduate or post graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 50 percent marks are eligible for application. Candidates with two years of teaching experience on permanent or temporary basis in secondary, higher secondary, senior secondary schools recognised by state or central government or union territory are also eligible for application.
Admission Procedure- IGNOU B.Ed Admission procedure consists of an Entrance Test. The entrance test for the same is conducted around July/August. Advertisement inviting application for the same has been  published

PART-A

Section I- (General English Comprehension or General Hindi Comprehension)
Number of questions- 10 (1 mark for each question)
Section II- (Logical and Analytical Reasoning)
Number of questions- 20 (1 mark for each question)
Section III- (Educational and General Awareness)
Number of questions- 25 marks (1 mark for each question)
Section IV-(Teaching Learning and School)
Number of questions- 25 marks (1 mark each for one question)
PART-B
Section V (Candidates are required to attempt any one of the following
I.Science
II.Social Science
III.Mathematics
IV.English
V.Hindi

Programme Structure- The programme structure for B.Ed Course is as follows-
•Group A- Core Courses  (20 credits)
•Group B- Content Based Methodology Courses (8 credits)
•Group C- Special Courses (4 credits)
•Compulsory courses- (8 credits) [this is a special course introduced in 2011 that deals with topics HIV AIDS Awareness and Adolescence and family education).
•Group D- Practical courses (16 credits).
How to apply- Student Handbooks and prospects are available at the registrar (SR&E) IGNOU Maidan Garhi, New Delhi- 110068. There are available online on www.ignou.ac.in. Applicants are required to send a demand draft of Rs 1050 that is payable at respective regional  centres .You can get applications in person @ Rs 1000 from study centres. Application for IGNOU B.ED admission for both cycles is published first in the months of April followed by October.
